Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Registration and Payments:
How do payments work?
Payments for California Post Grad tuition will be done through Teamsnap, either through automated monthly bank transfers or credit card payments. Please note that credit card fees apply, and payment options cannot be switched once selected. Housing payments will be managed through the Desert Boutique online platform.
When do payments start?
Payments will start as soon as an athlete makes the down payment and commits to our program.
What happens if I miss a payment or am behind on payments?
If a payment is missed or you fall behind on payments, a late fee will be charged to your monthly payment. If the issue persists, a coach may be required to sit the athlete until the balance is paid.
Does California Post Graduate Offer Scholarships?
We are able to offer athletic scholarships but are not able to offer academic scholarships with us not having an academic component as part of our program.
Program Participation:
Do I have to take classes to be a part of California Post Graduate?
No, you do not have to take classes. You can opt into a full gap year and still be eligible for practices and games. You have the option to take online classes from anywhere in the country or choose in-person classes at our local junior college (College of the Desert)
Am I able to get a part-time job?
Athletes are welcome to have part-time jobs, but it's essential to prioritize California Post Graduate Baseball.
Are there any specific athletic requirements or skill levels needed to join California Post Grad?
We look for athletes who haven't reached their full potential yet. We want players who are good enough to be on collegiate rosters today but want to develop our players to help them increase their competition level, scholarship offers, and play earlier in their career.
Facilities and Accommodations:
Do I need a car or a means of transportation?
No, you do not need to have a car while competing for our program. If you don't have a car, we will coordinate transportation to and from practices and games.
Are the apartments furnished?
The apartments include a washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, but athletes are required to supply everything else. There are a ton of thrift stores with cheap furniture in Palm Springs to help furnish the apartment.
Are there meal plans available?
There are no meal plans available for California Post Grad. However, our apartments have full kitchens, so athletes can cook their own meals. Additionally, grocery stores are within walking distance.
Athletic Activities and Schedule:
What is the coaching philosophy at California Post Grad?
Our program is run exactly like what you would experience in college. We have a heavy focus on development and competitiveness. Playing time will be shared among players as we guarantee playing time for all our athletes.
Why is California Post Graduate a good fit for me?
California Post Graduate offers you the full collegiate experience without burning a year of eligibility. With us, you're guaranteed playing time on the field against collegiate competition. Unlike traditional programs where you might spend the first few years on the bench before getting a chance to play, our focus is on development from day one. We ensure that you're actively involved in games and have the opportunity to showcase your skills and talents.
How are injuries and medical emergencies handled during practices and games?
While we don't have a team doctor or personal trainer, we have recommendations that we are able to send all of our athletes to. All of our coaches will be CPR certified, and all athletes must carry insurance.
Competitions and Eligibility:
Do we play against collegiate programs?
California Post Graduate will play collegiate programs both in the fall and winter. With us not being in a conference, we're able to play any level of competition including D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and JUCO programs. We play anywhere between 50-60 games a season.
Do I lose a year of eligibility?
No, you essentially get a free year of collegiate baseball under your belt without risking eligibility.
